10th Annual Summer California STS Retreat

It's that time of year again!   Time to start preparing for the 2016 Annual STS Summer Retreat!

Location:   Marin Headlands -

NatureBridge at Golden Gate 1033 Fort Cronkhite, Sausalito, CA 94965

This year we will be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of spending time talking and walking in the beautiful Marin Headlands. Please circulate this to folks at California universities that might be interested. STS lives in lots of corners and each year we need help finding them. If you're not seeing this text directly via an email, and would like to be on Davis STS's mailing list, please email me at

We will continue with our successful events from the past, including: STS in 2 minutes; dissertation proposal groups; mini-workshops taught by faculty; professionalization sessions (grants, jobs, writing, teaching; visual/film/documentary teaching; nature & beach theory walks; great meals and lots of coffee).

This year, the attendance will be cap'd at 60 people – first come first serve. All are welcome and appreciated, and expected: grads, faculty, and postdocs from California departments. Since there is a limited number of spots available, we ask that everyone confirm their attendance by sending their registration fee of $120 no later than April 30th. This covers rooms (dorm-style) and meals - transportation is up to you.

Again it is first come, first serve. Register early and quickly send your check!

Registration Google Form  Note: You are not considered registered until we receive payment!

Checks should be mailed to:

Checks for this event must be made payable to *UC Regents* - Don't make your checks out to Nicole! she's happy to take your money, but unfortunately, that won't hold you a spot at the retreat :)   If you're in need of receipt, please indicate with a note included alongside your deposit.

If you are a Davis student (or find yourself visiting) checks can also be dropped with Nicole (Room #1240 SSH) or Heidi (Room #1241 SSH). Also please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
