Michael Castelle is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Chicago's Department of Sociology. His dissertation research brings together science and technology studies, the history of computing, and economic sociology to explore the origins, conceptual foundations and processual development of techniques for both the structure/management of data and for contemporary marketplace platforms.
